When you come to one of the highest ski resorts in North America its not far fetched to think you might be up for some adventure in a Colorado Hot Air Balloon Ride!  The Breckenridge Ski Resort set the record for the highest Chairlift in the Nation so it should come as no surprise that it also sets the record for the “highest altitude balloon rides in North America” with all flights launched about 9,000 MSL. Your ride will start out surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in this country. Given the right conditions your should be able to see up to a mind blowing 100 miles of beautiful Rocky Mountain Countryside. Prominent scenery may include views of the Continental Divide, Pikes Peak, South Park, and of course the Colorado wildlife. Safety is of paramount importance and that is why Colorado Hot Air Balloon Rides maintains an excellent safety record. They use state of the art equipment and have FAA Certified pilots. Typical flights are about an hour and you will travel about 2-10 miles floating between 500 – 1500 ft AGL (Above Ground Level).  Your Balloon will ascend form the South Park Valley area which is located about a 1 hr drive from Breckenridge.  Complimentary transportation is provided from their central meeting place in Breckenridge.  The season runs from Mid May until Halloween.  After your trip you will be treated to a sit down breakfast with all the fixings.  While your enjoying your meal one of the pilots will talk about the history of ballooning.   As you are leaving to return to Breckenridge you will receive a souvenir champagne glass.  What a great way to start the day!
